Make the move..

Never think a step in the right direction is the popular, the common, the palatable and the applauded. It is not the one in which the majority travels but otherwise. A step in the right direction may not yield immediate productivity and profit, but it’s in your best interest to enroll on the journey. It may not profit in the now but on the long run. The journey to success, prosperity and better life is a solo and lonely one. Lucky you, if you have an understanding companion. Many and most of your trusted friends will not believe in it. Many may even shout it down. But, in the long run, it will speak and they will come to look for shade under it. Keep at it. Make the move!

Be A Current Forever!

Nothing truly endures or lasts. Nothing is forever. Where are the records breakers and trailblazers? Where are the generals in the military, business, sports, ministry, education, academia, wealth, the business mogul and in the secular in the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties? Where are the powerful of yesteryear? Where are the men and women of God who did wonders? Where are the intellectuals? Some of them are still alive but no one is singing their songs anymore. No king enjoys the crown for life. Not one. Proverbs asserts, ‘Riches can disappear fast. And the king crown doesn’t stay in his family forever’. The lesson; there are no ‘champions’ in the world, we only have current champion. This is evidence you and I can pursue and overtake the champions and become the current. Time and chance happen to them all. Relax! Be coordinated. Your time shall come and YOU will become current forever in Jesus name.

Be fired up!

These conversations ensued years ago between a mentor and a mentee.

Dr. Jack: I’m glad to invite to the podium, anointed man of God and apostle of the word. The man I really loved and long to be where he is today – Bishop Ben Enoch!

Congregation: A loud ovation, applause, shouting and screaming for the Bishop

Bishop Ben Enoch: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for the invitation. Dr. Jack may I say this that before you get to where I am, I will no more be there! Wow! Wow! Wow!

In a mentoring forum sometimes later, Dr. Jack said he learned his lesson that day! Don’t ask me what he learned, please! Without any hidden agenda and ulterior motive – these were highly revered men of God with pure conscience and intention to one another. My point exactly;

Everyone longs to be the best

Everyone longs to be above

Everyone longs to be on top

Everyone longs to be ahead

Everyone loved to be served

Everyone loves to dominate

Everyone loves to be in charge and in control

These desires are natural phenomenon. It is rooted in humanity to exploit, explore, enlarge and better the world more than we met it. Be fired up because, somebody, somewhere, somehow is bench-marking with you! Therefore, to occupy, maintain, sustain and retain your market share, your space and relevance – you’ve got to compete, and be ahead of competition!

He that competes with another is not complete?

      Do you subscribe to the axiom – he that competes with another is not complete? 

How true or false is that? In any case;

Who says you’re not in competition?

Don’t be deceived or cajoled you’re not in competition!

Don’t be deceived – many already benchmark you in disguise 

Look around – competition is real!

Look around – you are in the midst of competition. Intense one for that matter.

Wake up – and sleep no more if you could 

You’re designed to compete

You’re born into competition

You’re functional in a competitive world.

Your very best come forth under intense competition and challenges

May I say unequivocally?

He that compete not is not complete

If you don’t compete – you’re not complete

If you don’t compete – you’re unfit!

To be against competition is to be incompetent

Incompetence is an offshoot of sickness – mental or physical

To be incompetent is to be incapacitated

You must compete favourably with Time

You must compete favourably with the System

You must compete favourably with You

My candid advice – Run Your Own Race!

It’s a race against Time not people

It’s a race against The System not somebody

It’s a race against You not them!

Be mindful of your source of strength!

1. Pastors draw strength from the Bible, prayers, fasting and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
2. Lawyers draw strength, motivation, conviction, energy, driving force and courage from the law and the constitution.
3. The Civil servants draw strength from the scheme of service, gazette, circulars, financial regulations and constitution to mention but few.
4. Politicians draw strength from the party ideology, the masses, supporters and party structure.
5. Motivational & Public speakers draw strength from their admirers, audience and congregation. Just as Jesus’ compassion, strength and motivation came alive when He saw the multitudes.
6. Teachers draw strength from studies, books read, knowledge, research and discoveries.
7. Government draws strength from the vested power on it by the people, the numerical strength of her population and strength or army. Hmmm!
 
Delilah unequivocally requested from Samson his source of strength. The defiant lady was not diplomatic or minces words. She was straightforward, direct and blunt about it. Do you know or have you identified your source and place of strength, courage, motivation, inspiration, energy and driving force? Pay greater attention, guard jealously, invest, protect, preserve, secure and sustain your source, person and place of strength from Delilahs!

Give the devil the uppercut he deserves

Sometimes ago, the devil in his usual craft, whispered this to my mind; ‘with all your wisdom why aren’t you there?’ In a nanosecond, I remembered the bitter experiences; the losses, tears, betrayers, pains, regrets and abandonment, rejection and retrogression. My mind roamed and browsed some more. It dawned on me, and I got the message! Tears well up my eyes, but suddenly, something clicked, ‘hardly would any believe you had such experiences’, because it was not obvious to people and world around me. Why? Wisdom and wisdom principles made the difference. Consequently, I smiled and whispered back to the devil – ‘what if without wisdom how and where would I be with those experiences’? The devil couldn’t say a word. He was dumbfounded. It was an uppercut to him, he fled. It was a knock-out to the devil. Hmmmn what an experience! Every time the enemy or the devil comes to challenge your faith in your creator, asking why certain things happen in contrary to your confession, simply echo the words of Raph Emerson Waldo, ‘all I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen’, period!
